One of the best parts about a home automation system from Hermary’s is the control of multiple electrical components in your home, all from one central touch-screen key pad. Gone are the days of endless switches, dimmers and remotes – your entire home is integrated into one system that controls multiple devices and has the ability to create pre-set ‘scenes’. You can have as many or as few controls as you like, with as many or as few options at each station as is suitable to your needs.
Every room in your home can be equipped with audio, video or both, and instead of endless remotes for television, DVDs, stereo and CDs, your touch-pad is your one stop shop. Press the Tivo button, and your tv automatically comes on, your audio receiver switches to the right input, and a page appears on your touch pad to control it. Alternatively, press the CD button, and the tv goes off, you receiver switches to the CD input and a page appears on your touch pad to control it.
Every room in your home can be equipped with audio, video or for your lifestyle both, and instead of endless remotes for television, DVDs, stereo and CDs, your touch-pad is your one stop shop. Press the TV button, and a list of channels, your favorites or a number pad, comes up. Alternatively, press the DVD button, and list of pre-stored titles comes up to the screen. The same applies to the audio functions. One of the best features of the system is that you can store up to 10,000 DVDs or CDs. Goodbye video store, hello home library!
While each electronic function is more aesthetic and easier to use when integrated into one touch-pad home automation system, one of the most lifestyle enhancing aspects is the unlimited number of scene settings that incorporate some or all of the features. You can have a ‘Preparation’ setting for the kitchen where the lights turn on high, blinds draw closed, temperature drops slightly, and your favorite news channel comes on. A ‘Dining’ setting in the kitchen can dim the wall lights, turn on lights above the breakfast bar, jazz music comes on, and the alarm is set in the rest of the home. Each room can have as many settings, with as many components as you like, designed to suit your needs and preferences.
The system’s ability to track the sun is beneficial for HVAC control as well as privacy. By keeping the shades open or closed based on the desired room temperature, you are saving money on your energy bills. During winter, when heating is required to keep the home warm, the system will keep the shades open to warm the air. In summer, when the system works to cool the air, the shades will stayed closed during the day to keep heat out. If you don’t want the curtains closed when you’re at home, it is easy to have them timed to open prior to your arrival, or you can open them all with a touch of a button.
Lighting & Shades
With a home automation system from Hermary’s, lighting and shades functions are controlled from an elegant keypad, replacing endless switches and dimmers. Settings called ‘scenes’ can be created to turn on, off or dim multiple lights and shades at once. They can also be set on a timer to coincide with your arrival or departure, and the shades can be set on an automated timer that tracks the position of the sun.
Your security system is easily integrated into your touch pad control system. You can arm or disarm sections of your home, or have them pre-set. Perhaps the ‘Movie’ setting arms all rooms of the house except the home theater or sitting room. You can have the alarm set off certain lights as well – imagine if a burglar came into your home, and upon triggering the alarm had all the lights in the home turn on, curtains open, and exterior lights flash to alert the neighbors. The same events could also be activated manually from a touch pad or remote by your bedside, making sure you and your family are as safe as can be under any circumstance.
