These statistics prove that AV is essential to sales and customer retention
If you run a business in Palo Alto, CA, you know how hard it is to break through to your customer base. Whether you want to sell a pair of slacks or keep diners satisfied, your strategy must go beyond providing the best products and services. You have to grab attention.
Thankfully, that’s easy to do when you have the right commercial audio-video equipment. In this blog, we’ll show you how upgrading your AV with digital signs, distributed audio, and IoT will help you retain customers and influence behavior. Keep reading for more.
90% of Information Is Visual
What we see is the primary influencer of what we buy. It may seem intuitive, but understanding that basic concept is essential to driving sales. Arranging your products in a visually appealing way will help stimulate potential shoppers and promote more closed sales. And, according to an infographic by Rocketium Academy, 90 percent of the information we receive daily is visual. That means you’ll have to take extra steps to ensure your products are seen.
Digital signs are a dynamic way to stand out and get your message across. Whether you want to promote a sale or highlight the season’s best products, you can craft images that will grab attention. Interactive 4K displays help your customers engage with branding more intimately. That way, they’ll be more likely to spend time and money in your establishment.
Music Influences Food Choices
There are a lot of factors that go into choosing what you’ll eat, but according to a study by Adrian North and Lorraine Sheridan of Curtin University and Charles Areni of Macquarie University, certain music can influence your food choices. As reported by the Association of Psychology Science, their recent experiment showed that different musical types could prompt eaters to select different menu options.
“In one experiment, 120 Scottish college students were assigned to one of four rooms in a lab. Each of the four rooms featured one of three types of music—American (The Beach Boys), Chinese (The Peking Brothers), Indian (Sunidhi Chauhan)—on a continuous loop. The fourth room had no music. Participants were then given a menu featuring 30 different entrees representative of the cuisine of China, India, and the United States (e.g. hamburger, dim sum, chicken tikka masala).”
It may come as little surprise that subjects listening to American music were more likely to choose hamburgers and other American-style entrees. And those listening to Indian music were more likely to choose that nation’s cuisine.
You can take advantage of the impact music has on your customers with an audio distribution system. From a centralized system, you can select music and play it throughout your restaurant. Expertly placed speakers will help you ensure you’re not overwhelming customers with audio. And you can potentially prompt them to check out items they may not have thought about before.
80% of Retailers Will Use IoT by 2021
Technology doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If you add AV to your space, you’ll need a way to control it quickly, efficiently, and easily. So, it’s essential to stay aware of the trends in business technology, and how the Internet of Things will impact your digital signage and audio distribution systems in the coming years.
According to a stat by Vxchng.com, 80 percent of retailers will use the Internet of Things to customize store visits by the year 2021. That could mean interactive digital signage or other technologies designed to create unique experiences for your customers.
